How to use a concealed carrier
There is this notion that people are ultimately the ones who are responsible for their safety. Well, it is starting to take hold once again in current times.
Americans are fortunate to have some of the best-trained law enforcement officers in the world protecting them. Unfortunately, none of us has one of those officers assigned to us 24 hours a day. Because of this reality, the concealed carry of a handgun is becoming more prevalent. More states are enacting laws to support it, some even allow it without a permit.
A concealed carry is simply the practice of carrying a weapon such as a sidearm or a handgun in a discreet manner. When doing this, it is either carried on one’s person or in proximity. When in public places, a concealed carry is used in a manner that hides or conceals the weapon’s presence from the surrounding observers.
All of this is a step in the right direction. But simply owning a handgun is not enough. Sure, having a gun will make you feel better and more secure. However, in a case where you need to use that gun, feeling better and safe won’t get you through a possibly lethal situation. This is why you’ll need a holster to carry it, as well as some skills, tactics, ammo that’s dependable to make use of it. Having a good mindset is also as important.
Unlike civilians, most law enforcement officers carry their handguns in a visible holster. In fact, some officers such as plainclothes detectives or undercover agents, carry weapons in concealed holsters. In some countries and jurisdictions, civilians are legally required to obtain a concealed carry permit to possess and carry a firearm. In others, a CCW permit is only required if the firearm is not visible, such as carrying said weapon in one’s purse, bag, trunk, etc.
